EDITORIAL NOTE:I have been trying to recruit an inmate to write an INTRODUCTION to Pod People; below please find an attempt to write a PROLOGUE[raising the question of possible content in an EPILOGUE]
PROLOGUE
Along about the 28th day of January[2015], Mike Patel(the proprietor at the Town House Motel; where I had been a continuous resident in Room #11 since DEC 20, 2012) had informed me of the recent installation, by MediaCom, of a more powerful WiFi modem; this convenient access to the World Wide Web, provided by management for its registered guests, had allowed me to get back to work. By ‘work,’ I am referring to my publishing activities that utilized a number of ‘webhosts’ to post a variety of digital files; short stories, historical documents, ARTICLES(with & without HTML enhancements) & editorial comments of a political nature. My ‘audience’ was, primarily, other retired baby-boomers that frequented those blogsites designed to attract members of this group(potentially some 70-million strong). Additionally, to developing/publishing fresh content for those blogsites, I had spent just one month developing a network of Social Media contacts; a network to facilitate the distribution of some of my ARTICLES locally.
On my 65th birthday(I had been officially retired for very near to three full years; I’d received, from Social Security/U.S. Treasury, my first retirement benefit payment[in the amount of $892] on the fourth Wednesday in April, 2012), I had spent my entire waking day writing the third installment of a series of eight editorial articles I was writing to protest the war in Iraq(as well as Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen and other potential Middle Eastern sites where violence threatened to erupt). I spent approximately 30 minutes ‘distributing’ my finished ARTICLE[entitled “Point Two”] throughout the social network I had created in Februay, took a shower and got dressed & proceeded to a local Waffle House, where I spent the entire night trying to play all the ‘Golden Oldies’ available on their jukebox; Happy Birthday!
Pod People picks up my story just three days later; I hope that you can figure out why that story was written.
